Trekking Semeru 4 days
Trekking Semeru is one of the best trek packages in Java Indonesia after Mount Rinjani Lombok. Mount Semeru is an active volcano in Java with a magnificent peak called Mahameru, 3.676 meters above sea level (12.060 feet). Mount Semeru is part of Bromo – Tengger-Semeru National Park (TNBTR)
Trekking Semeru itinerary
Day-01 : Surabaya – Tumpang village
Arrive at Juanda International Airport Surabaya, where you will be met by our guide and transferred for 3 hours to Tumpang village via Malang city dinner and overnight at Rani home stay in Tumpang Village.
Day-02 : Tumpang – Ranu Pani – Kalimati
Breakfast at the homestay. Then go by four-wheel drive to Ranu Pani village, the starting point for climbing Mt. Semeru. After registering, start trekking through the tropical rainforest to Ranu Kumbolo for approximately 3 hours. Lunch will be provided at Ranu Kumbolo. Continue hike to Kalimati campsite via Oro-Oro Ombo and Cemoro Kandang. Dinner at the campsite and overnight in a tent.
Day-03 : Kalimati – Summit – Ranu Kumbolo – Ranu Pani – Tumpang
Early morning at 1 a.m., wake up for preparing to trek the highest point. Hot tea or coffee and snacks will be provided. Reach the peak in 4 hours, and witness sunrise before heading back to Kalimati for breakfast. Trek down to Ranu Kumbolo and continue to Ranu Pani gate. By Jeep transfer to Tumpang and stay at Rani Homestay.
Day-04 : Tumpang – Surabaya
Breakfast at Homestay and transferred to Juanda Airport in Surabaya | End program

Explanation
Gubuk Kelakah – Ranu Pane
Gubuk Kelakan is the place where all trekkers apply for permit registration before continuing to Ranu Pane, checkpoint in Ranu Pane and need to register your name, medical certificate, permit letter, and National Park entrance fee.
Ranu Kumbolo
After a 9.5 Km hike you will reach Ranu Kumbolo Is first shelter 2.400m above sea level there is a big freshwater lake and the point to see sunrise rising between two hills, most of the beginner trekkers set their tents here, and continue to Kalimati on next day.
Kalimati
Is Campsite where you can set your tent, to reach Kalimati you should hike through a famous steep hill called Tanjakan Cinta, and behind that, you will see very beautiful grassland called Oro – Oro Ombo.
Arcopodo
Is 200 meters higher from Kalimati, and need 1 – 2 hours to ascend through a steep pine forest, and some of the trekkers set their tents here and for another 45-minute hike you will find “Kelik”, the last vegetation area before the dunes.
Summit Attack
Similar on another mountain if you want to go to the summit you should start early (1 am) and in Semeru you will need 4 – 5 hours to get to the Summit, need extra focus and follow your guide mentioned
